THE MEGA BITE OF THE BIG APPLE.
Karan Johar’s fashion stunt started when he collaborated with Varun Bahl last year in the Couture Week( formerly sponsored by HDIL) which had a string of stars..namely King Khan,his lioness and Ranbir Kapoor to pump of the spirit.This time in VHIMFW it’s better with only clothes to look at and no distractions neither in the front row nor on the ramp.Relief! ?:P
Inspired by New York….Concrete jungle where dreams are made of…there’s nothing KJ and Varun couldn’t do. Karan has some true liking(read:obsession) for the city,considering how many of his movies were shot in NYC.Casual and clubby was the key in the whole lineup with a light delight of bright colours.Right from Puree and Signal Red,Whites/Ivory,Olive,Deep cobalt and Pale suede brown and Khaki.
A t-shirt quoted with “Dream as you’ll live forever… Live as you’ll die today”.An off white Nehru jacket with epaulette detail on shoulder paired with Olive Trousers .Bifucates were unexpectedly low crotched but syncing with free mood.And a smacky linen jacket with PLAID lapels! Were the best of it.All in a balanced mix of jerseys,cotton,linen.Look!OMG…printed shorts with images of the New York city skyline and a suit with a graphic print of the Brooklyn Bridge. Out of the blue was a red shirt with a hidden chain detail.Likey!
